Discussion:
Does Comcast provide NTP servers?

I finally decided to do something about bad time on my home network and
want to set up NTP. I use Comcast as my ISP and it would probably be best
if I synced from NTP servers on their network. However, I can't seem to find
any mention of them providing said service. Does anybody use NTP at home
on Comcast and if so to what servers do you sync?

Thanks,

They don't mention any.

Let me suggest:

http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/north-america

server 0.north-america.pool.ntp.org
server 1.north-america.pool.ntp.org
server 2.north-america.pool.ntp.org

It's important to have all the machines that you manage
in sync with each other. It's not important that you match
your ISP.

Apparently comcast now runs ntp servers on all gateways - this actually
makes a lot of sense, since it will be close to the client and easy to
identify.

Not all, or mine does not respond to me.

# ntpq -p 71.233.148.1
***Request timed out

# ntpdate -d 71.233.148.1
no server suitable for synchronization found
